About The Founder
Rita Green
Rita Green was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given 3 months to live. She spent 7 months in the hospital, in excruciating pain, with a diagnosis that looked overwhelmingly bad, but she never gave up hope.
​
While in the hospital, the nurses on her unit rallied together to bring Christmas to her and her family. It was a gift that words cannot express, and a feeling that ignited a new purpose in Rita's life. Such a generous and thoughtful act, brought hope and joy in a time when life felt undeniably hard and insurmountable.

Rita began the Annual Community Christmas Giveaway. An event that enables children and families to celebrate Christmas with brand new toys and presents and a complete and delicious meal.
​
She also began the Summer Snack Program that helps children eat everyday throughout the summer when schools are closed. School is not only a learning resource for children, but for some where they receive their daily meals.
